Refund Policy
If an applicant withdraws from the program earlier than April 4, 2012 (JST), the total tuition and homestay fee will be refunded. In withdrawals on or after April 4, HIF will refund the total paid amount, less the cancellation fees stated below. The applicant who wishes to withdraw must inform HIF by facsimile or e-mail. The refund will be made by bank transfer. HIF will make no tuition refunds if cancellations are made on or after Thursday, June 7, 2012 (00:00 JST).

*The refund of the homestay fee will be assessed per-diem if you withdraw after you have started living with your host family.
Additional Expenses
The following costs are estimated of personal expenses over the 8-week period. Actual costs may vary according to participants' personal needs. Participants who plan a trip to Sapporo during the 4-day semester break should expect to incur higher "personal expenses".

Travel Arrangements
Participants must make their own arrangement to travel between their home countries and Japan, as well as domestic transportation between Hakodate and Tokyo/Kansai international airports. Guided group travel plans from Tokyo International Airport to Hakodate will be provided by HIF. Successful applicants will receive information on the Group Travel Plan upon acceptance to the program.
Program cancellation by HIF
HIF may cancel the Program before the starting date in the event of a natural or other disaster that poses an immediate threat to your health and/or safety. In this case, HIF will inform you by e-mail and refund you the full tuition, including the homestay fee. Refunds will be made to your bank account by telegraphic transfer. In case we must cancel the Program while in progress, we will refund the unused portion of your tuition, including the homestey fee, calculated at US $ 60 per diem.
*As agreed at signature on your application form, you will no way hold HIF responsible if you should suffer injury or losses during the program or related activities. Please contact us if you have any further queries about this policy.
