After an 8.8-magnitude earthquake struck Russia, a tsunami warning was issued in Hakodate at 9:45am on Wednesday, July 30 (JST). It was switched to a tsunami advisory at 8:45pm on that day. The advisory was cancelled at 4:35pm on the following day.
