Placement tests & orientations
For the nights of June 11, 12 and 13, HIF reserves rooms in the Hakodate Kokusai Hotel for all the participants.

Opening ceremony. Homestay starts.
First Semester

First semester starts.
June 27 (Sat), 28 (Sun)
Overnight group trip to Onuma Quasi-National Park
July 9 (Thu)
Final examination

Participants must arrive in Hakodate by noon of June 11, 2026 (JST). If your university operates on a quarter system and have a schedule conflict with the HIF program, you must let the HIF Office know before you apply.

During the homestay period (June 14 - August 9), staying out overnight is prohibited even at another student’s host family’s house or at a hotel, except for the four-day semester break.
